Adopt a Family 

This service is designed to help our most, financially, and emotionally disadvantaged families during the holidays. Families receive food and gifts to preserve a sense of connection and joy traditionally associated with the holidays. 

Bundle of Hope 

Designed specifically for newly diagnosed children. This program allows us to provide families with a duffel bag care package that includes comfort items and literature that’s respective to the child’s form of cancer. 

Care-A-Van

A transportation service that is available to assist children with cancer and their families. The Care-A-Van provides families with transportation to and from their medical appointments when needed. 

Emergency Funeral Funds 

This Emergency fund is available to assist Candlelighters’ families when their child has lost his or her battle to cancer. Referrals to area funeral homes and cemeteries are available upon request to qualifying families. 

Emergency Living

Provides funds to families who are unable to cope with basic living expenses. Money for typical monthly expenses such as rent, utilities, auto repair, etc., is available for families that are complying with program requirements and have no other means of financial assistance. 

Emergency Meal Vouchers

These vouchers are provided to families in need to use at the hospital cafeteria while their child is hospitalized for in need of extended clinical visits. 

Emergency Medical Funds 

These funds are provided to families that require monetary assistance with prescription drugs, personal care equipment, or wigs. 

Emergency Travel Funds 

These funds are provided to those families who are in need of assistance with out-of-town transportation for medical treatment.


Food Pantry 

Is a program that maintains a complete food pantry of canned foods and staple items. We are grateful to work closely with El Paso Fighting Hunger to be able to offer a variety of foods to our families. 


Scholarships

Candlelighters offers a scholarship program to cancer survivors registered with the organization. Scholarships are made available to cancer survivors, whose education was interrupted or delayed by cancer. This is available to families that comply with program requirements and upon availability of funds.

Jeanne Osborne

Overcoming the challenge of battling cancer since the age of 2, Jeanne Osborne will be attending Wellesley college in the Fall of 2024, pursuing degrees in Anthropology and Biochemistry. Jeanne attributes her resilience and success to the support of Candlelighters, an organization that stood by her through every obstacle. With a profound sense of gratitude, Jeanne is dedicated to giving back to Candlelighters and her community through volunteer work.
